Columbia snow removal efforts continue after weekend winter storm
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Streets around Columbia are partially covered Monday morning after this weekend's winter storm.
Mid-Missouri was blanketed with five to nine inches of snow, according to the ABC 17 StormTrack Weather Team.
In Columbia, the city’s 28-person snowplow crew spent Sunday morning clearing first and second-priority routes, including main roads and emergency paths. By the afternoon, crews moved on to third-priority roads.
There are still areas that have slick spots around Columbia, like Clark Lane, Bethel St., Hanover Blvd. and Vandiver Dr.
Columbia residents can track where snowplow crews have been and where they’re headed next using the city’s snow-clearing progress viewer. The online map shows which streets have already been plowed and which ones are still waiting to be cleared.
Boone County Joint Communication told ABC 17 there were no accidents overnight into Monday due to the road conditions.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol posted on social media the number of weather-related incidents over the weekend as of 8:51 p.m. Sunday.
