The Missouri Department of Transportation said Wednesday morning that Highway 22 was closed between Centralia and Mexico in Audrain County after a crash that killed at least one person.

According to a social media post from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, troopers are investigating a three-vehicle crash on Missouri Highway 22 near Audrain Road 215. Two tractor-trailers and an SUV were involved.

The roadway is blocked, and troopers are asking people to avoid the area.

Little Dixie Fire Protection District Chief Jason Henry said at about 9 a.m. that the closure might last for four hours.

The Audrain County Sheriff's Department did not provide any other details. The MSHP is conducting the investigation.

ABC 17 crews on scene saw an MU Health Care helicopter, two overturned semi-trucks and a severely damaged car. The Missouri State Highway Patrol, Audrain Ambulance District and a Boone Health ambulance were on scene.
