Security measures in place for Gov.-elect Mike Kehoe’s inauguration
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Inauguration Day for Missouri Govenor-elect Mike Kehoe has arrived and capital, local, state and county agencies are preparing to make the day as safe as possible.
According to Capital police, there will be check points on the south lawn, which is typical for inauguration day, and there will be a weapons detection system also in place.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jefferson City, Missouri State Park Rangers and Conservation Agents will all be on hand securing the area.
For those attending, there are some things that will not be allowed inside the Capital building such as, noisemakers or spray paint, signs with poles, etc.
Drivers traveling Monday will still need to follow the rules of the road, as patrol operations will remain regular even with troopers helping to staff inauguration security.
