Man in custody after hour-long standoff in Moberly

MOBERLY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man is in custody after an hour-long standoff in Moberly on Thursday.

On Sept. 20 Moberly police were made aware of a possible kidnapping and assault at a home on Rollins St. The victim was rescued by the Moberly Police Department Sweat Team and the North Missouri Drug Task Force, MPD said in a press release.

After investigating, police issued a warrant for Vaughn Woods, 38, for first-degree kidnapping ,first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

Thursday, police found Woods at a home in the 800 block of Union Ave. where Woods was in an hour- long standoff with the Moberly Swat Team and other law enforcement agencies.

Woods was later taken into custody without incident, police said.
