IBERIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The city of Iberia is planning to drain its water tower Friday night.

According to a post on the city's Facebook page, the tower will be drained at 8 p.m. Crews must do this to fix a meter issue on a main line.

The city's post said it chose to do the work at night to minimize the effect on residents. City officials hope to fix the issue by midnight. Water pressure is expected to return to normal by early Saturday morning.

Friday's work follows a water leak that happened earlier in the week.

On Tuesday, the city posted on Facebook that crews drained the water tower to fix a leak. The city was under a 24-hour precautionary boil water advisory following that work.
