COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Morgan County man was flown to University Hospital on Thursday afternoon after losing consciousness and crashing.

Bruce Lawson, 46, of Stover, suffered serious injuries when he lost consciousness while driving Thursday afternoon just off Deer Run Road. His Ford F-150 hit a garden shed after going off the left side of the road, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The passenger took control of the vehicle when Lawson passed out, the patrol says. The passenger was unhurt.

A condition update for Lawson was not available Friday afternoon.
