Moniteau County Sheriff Tony Wheatley told ABC 17 News in an email that the funds would be a great help for his office.

“We applied for funds on the grant for equipment to supplement our capabilities in natural disasters, lost or missing persons, fugitive hunts, etc. We requested and were awarded funds to purchase a pickup, a UTV and a trailer to haul the UTV. We are a smaller county with limited resources and this grant will help us out tremendously,” Wheatley wrote.
