Stover woman seriously injured in Johnson County crash Saturday night

JOHNSON COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Stover woman is seriously hurt after a crash in Johnson County late Saturday night.

The crash happened on Marr Dr. near N. Maguire St. at 11:41 p.m.

Melissa Alston, 48, was driving his 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer north with passenger Haley Hopper, 23, when it ran off the road and hit a culvert causing Hopper to be thrown from the Lancer, according to the online crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Hopper suffered serious injuries and was taken to Research Hospital by EMS. The report states she was not wearing a seatbelt.

Alston suffered minor injuries and refused treatment on scene. Alston's Lancer was totaled.

Troopers reported Alston was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
