RECALL ROUNDUP: Recalls issued for handheld garment steamers, Honda vehicles, GM trucks

Vornado Handheld Garment Steamers

Vornado has recalled about 2 million of its handheld garment steamers.

The company claims its steam-fast handheld garment steamers have been recalled for the risk of hot water coming out of the nozzle and burning users.

So far, the company has received 122 reports of hot water coming out of the steamer and has received 23 reports of burn injuries. The recalled steamers were sold at Walmart, Bed Bath and Beyond along with other stores nationwide and online from July 2009 through January of this year.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission is urging users to stop using the recalled steamer immediately and contact Vornado for a refund or free replacement.

Honda recalls more than 750,000 vehicles

Automaker Honda has recalled more than 750,000 of its Honda and Acura vehicles, according to a safety recall report.

The company claims a faulty sensor may cause the front passenger air bag to deploy on accident. Those sensors, Federal Regulators say are required to turn off the air bags if childre or small adults are in the seats.

The recall affects Honda and Acura models from 2020 to 2022 and includes:

  • 2020-2022 Honda Accord
  • 2020-2021 Honda Accord Hybrid
  • 2020-2020 Honda Civic 2D
  • 2020-2022 Honda Civic 4D
  • 2021-2022 Honda Civic 5D
  • 2021-2021 Honda Civic Type R
  • 2020-2021 Honda CR-V
  • 2020-2021 Honda CR-V Hybrid
  • 2020-2020 Honda Fit
  • 2020-2022 Honda HR-V
  • 2021-2021 Honda Insight
  • 2020-2022 Honda Odyssey
  • 2020-2022 Honda Pilot
  • 2020-2021 Honda Passport
  • 2020-2021 Honda Ridgeline
  • 2020-2020 Acura MDX
  • 2022-2022 Acura MDX
  • 2020-2022 Acura RDX
  • 2020-2021 Acura TLX

Honda claims its dealers will replace that seat sensors for free and owners will be notified starting March 18. No injuries have been reported.

General Motors recalls more than 300,000 trucks

General Motors has issued a recall for more than 300,000 of its trucks.

The company stated if the vehicles tailgate electronic release system gets wet, it may cause a short circuit which could cause the tail-gate to open at anytime, even when the truck is moving.

GM says there have been hundreds of reports of that happening since 2020, leading to minor injuries and property damage.

The affected vehicles included in this recall are:

  • 2020-2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500
  • 2020-2024 GMC Sierra 2500/3500

The automaker said owners will be notified sometime next month.
