COOPER COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A UTV crash in Cooper County Wednesday afternoon sent two people to the hospital.

The Highway Patrol reported the crash happened when the driver, Dillion Slaughter, 33, experienced an equipment failure, causing the UTV to overturn and throw him and his passenger Morgan Kaune, 29, from the vehicle.

Troopers say Slaughter suffered serious injuries and Kaune suffered moderate injuries.

According to the online crash report, both Slaughter and Kaune were not wearing a safety device at the time of the crash.
