Jefferson City Labor Day Parade caused several road closures

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Saturday morning's Jefferson City 45th annual Labor Day Parade caused traffic delays throughout the city.

According to a flyer promoting the parade, the parade route will begin at the corner of Missouri Blvd. and High Street.

The parade will then head east down High St. to Adams St. before returning to Capital Ave.

Jefferson City Police Department say that any road closures happening in the area due to the parade will be posted on the departments Facebook page the day of. They also said parking restrictions have put into place for the event.

It is unclear when the parade will end.

With congestion expected, use safe driving practices when driving around the area.

In addition to the parade traffic, roadwork is also being done in the city. Road work delays are in effect on C-F Red Whaley Expressway and US-50.
