Woman says car evading police led to central Columbia crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ) -

A woman was hurt in a car crash in central Columbia on Monday night with what she said was a driver trying to evade police.

ABC 17 News saw an ambulance on scene at Providence Road and Rogers Street. First responders went to the crash around 10 p.m. and cleared the crash about 20 minutes later.

A woman told an ABC 17 News reporter that she was hurt in the crash. She said the driver of an allegedly stolen car ran a red light at an intersection while police were pursuing them. The driver T-boned her, and the people in the car ran away. The woman said police were able to take one of them into custody, who she described as a juvenile.

Police on scene did not comment on the crash.
