Area government offices closed for Labor Day

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A number of area city and county offices will be closed on Monday in observance of Labor Day.

Both City of Columbia offices will be closed for the holiday.

Curbside trash collection will not take place Monday, and will be delayed one day the rest of the week, according to a press release from the city. The landfill will also be closed. Street parking enforcement will not take place and bus routes will not operate.

The Activity and Recreation Center will be open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; while Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center will be open from noon-5 p.m.

Jefferson City offices will also be closed. City Council meetings for Columbia and Jefferson City will take place on Tuesday. Cole, Boone, Callaway and Cooper counties will also have offices closed.

Trash pickup in Boonville is also delayed, according to the city’s sanitation website. Boonville’s City Council meeting is also set for Tuesday, according to the city’s calendar.

Emergency services will not be affected.
