Terrell named temporary Boone County Circuit Clerk
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Sherry Terrell was appointed Friday to become the temporary Boone County Circuit Clerk.
The appointment was made by 13th Circuit Presiding Judge Brouck Jacobs. Terrell takes over duties on Saturday. She replaces Christy Blakemore, who announced her retirement from the position in early June. Blakemore was first elected to the position in 2006.
Terrell has worked with the Missouri Judiciary for 20 years, 18 of which were as a deputy clerk in the Boone County Circuit Clerk's Office, according to a press release. She was Blakemore’s top assistant for the past five years.
"I am honored the Court en Banc is placing their trust in me,” Terrell said in the release. “I am excited for this opportunity and look forward to continuing the high level of service the Circuit Clerk's Office provides to the judges, attorneys, judicial partners, and citizens of Boone County."
