KEYTESVILLE, Mo. (KMIZ)

A teenager was arrested and charged after the Chariton County Sheriff’s says he brought a handgun to a school.

Christian Logue, 18, of Keytesville, is charged with unlawful use of a weapon.

A sheriff’s deputy met with Logue in the principal’s office of Keytesville School on Thursday, Dec. 15. Logue allegedly told deputies that he knew why they were talking to him and allegedly told deputies that he told someone he had a handgun inside his car, according to the probable cause statement.

Logue allegedly told deputies that he forgot the gun was in his car and was in a rush to get school. He said he was going to hunt squirrels after school. When he got to school, he realized the gun was in the car and put it in the glovebox.

The probable cause statement references a “game” as a place. The Missouri State High School Activities Association website shows that Keytesville’s boys and girls basketball teams were playing at home that day. Logue allegedly told deputies that his ex-girlfriend told him her boyfriend was going to the game.
