Columbia man charged for the second time this year for rape
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Charges have been filed in a reported from January Columbia rape.
Jay Strausbaugh is accused of assaulting the victim while she was unconscious.
According to court documents, the victim told police that she was drinking at Strausbaugh's residence and started to fall asleep. The victim then woke up and was in a bed in the residence.
The victim told police that she remembers Strausbaugh being on top of her for one second before becoming unconscious again.
Strausbaugh allegedly told the victim's sister in a conversation through Instagram that "Yes it did happen but I was blackout and she was also getting onto me."
This is the second rape charge filed against him this year.
He is being held in the Boone County jail without bond.
Strausbaugh is set to make his first court appearance Wednesday.
