Crash report reveals new details in February Boone County crash involving a snowplow
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report reveals new details in the fatal Feb. 16 crash of a Moberly man.
According to the crash report, a GMC Sierra, driven by Mark Swindell, was traveling south on Highway 63 in the passenger lane while it was snowing and in freezing temperatures.
Two vehicles drove past the snowplow causing snow and debris to reduce visibility as the driver attempted to turn. The snow and debris also hindered the view of the driver of Sierra.
According to the report, the driver of the snow plow then moved the vehicle forward into oncoming traffic.
The crash report states the plow blade was up and caused the fatal injury when the Sierra hit it.
The Sierra was traveling at 72 miles per hour at the time of the wreck.
The driver of the snow plow says he did not see the truck believes the truck did not have it's headlights on.
