Lane closures along Christy Drive begin Monday
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Intermittent lane closures planned for Monday along Christy Drive in Jefferson City.
Crews will be constructing a barrier wall and guardrail along Christy Drive and eastbound Route 54.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the work is part of the next phase of the Route 54 safety improvements and is expected to last three weeks.
This phase is also part of a larger project, which is intended to improve the pavement and safety from Stadium Boulevard to Route 54 in Jefferson City to the Miller County line.
MoDOT said crews will also complete work to the existing guardrail and build a new concrete barrier wall on both sides of the Ellis Boulevard interchange along eastbound Route 54.
Flaggers will be in the area to help motorists through Christy Drive while construction takes place.
MoDOT advised drivers to plan extra travel time, slow down and pay attention in work zones.
The entire project is expected to be completed by November 1.
