Columbia man facing murder charges after Saturday death investigation

A Columbia man now faces murder charges after a death investigation in Boone County Saturday evening.

David Myers, 54, of Columbia was arrested early Sunday morning for the charges of 2nd Degree Murder and Armed Criminal Action. Myers was booked into the Boone County jail.

On Saturday, deputies with the Boone County Sheriff's Department responded to Sycamore Hills Road near North Creasy Springs Road around 7 p.m. to reports of an unresponsive man in the road.

The man was identified as Anthony Lockwood, 39, of Columbia. The investigation revealed that Lockwood's death was a homicide, according to the sheriff's department Facebook page.

The cause of Lockwood's death is unclear.
