Missouri state fire marshals investigating weekend fires in Cole County

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Cole County Fire Protection District is reporting two weekend house fires are considered total losses.

Officials say there were no injuries at either fire. One fire was on the 15000 block of Route H near Henley; the other fire was reported on the 6000 block of Loesch Road.

Officials report seven trucks and 20 firefighters responded to the fire on Route H at 9:30 p.m. on Friday. Officials say crews were on scene until 4:30 a.m. and took crews about an hour to get the fire under control.

A neighbor reported flames at the fire on the 6000 block of Loesch Road Sunday night around 8:40. Officials report seven trucks, 20 firefighters, plus six more firefighters from Russellville after mutual aid was requested to respond to the fire. Crews on the scene took around 15 minutes to get the fire under control and crews remained on the scene for around three hours.

The American Red Cross is helping both families.
