MEXICO, Mo. (KMIZ)
On Wednesday evening, the Mexico Public Safety Department responded to the 500 block of Martin Luther King Dr., in reference to a residential fire.
Officials say responding personnel found a vacant house with fire coming from the front two rooms.
Personnel put out the fire with the front of the house suffering significant fire damage and the back suffering heat and smoke damage.
Officials say evidence on scene indicated that people had been using the house, and there were indications of drinking, smoking, and firework use in and around the house.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
