MoDOT closes Randolph County road due to oversaturation
RANDOLPH COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Missouri Department of Transportation has closed Missouri Route 3 between U.S. Route 24 and Route BB in Randolph County out of an abundance of caution due to oversaturated ground and a potential slide.
Officials report the closure will be indefinite until the slope has stabilized and the area is safe to travel.
Drivers who move the barricades and drive in the area could cause further damage.
“Additional rain in the area is expected throughout the week, and we will continue to monitor the condition of the area,” said Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Brian Untiedt.
To detour around this closure, drivers should use Route BB to Route A to Business Route 63/Morley Street in Moberly to U.S. 24.
