Royal Canin plant in Rolla to close, 105 people to lose jobs

The Royal Canin will permanently close its manufacturing plant in Rolla.

The company – which specializes in making pet food – sent a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification to the state on Tuesday.

The plant at 1700 Bridge School Road will cease production on April 18 and the plant itself will be decommissioned on Dec. 31.

A total of 105 people will lose their jobs, the WARN notice states. The notice states that 85 people will be laid off on April 18 and the remaining 20 people will lose their jobs on Dec. 31. Manufacturing will be moved to other Royal Canin facilities.

The notice states that employees were first notified of the closing on Jan. 14.
