Escaped federal prisoner arrested near Versailles

VERSAILLES, Mo. (KMIZ)

An escaped federal prisoner was arrested south of Versailles early Saturday.

42-year-old Joseph Uman of Kansas City was arrested yesterday by Morgan County deputies after a car chase started by the Versailles Police Department, according to the Morgan County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies used a K-9 to track Uman after his car was found abandoned on Highway TT. Uman was found in an abandoned house and taken into custody after a fight with law enforcement.

He was arrested on a felony federal warrant and taken to the Morgan County jail after receiving medical treatment on scene.
