COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating after a semi-truck caught fire Tuesday morning on the on-ramp to westbound Interstate 70 at mile marker 183 near Jonesburg.

The Jonesburg-High Hill Fire Protection District Fire Chief John Woods said the truck caught fire while the driver was trying to pull off the interstate after getting a flat tire.

No injuries were reported.

Woods told ABC 17 the vehicle was a refrigeration truck carrying poultry.

The New Florence Fire Protection District assisted with putting the fire out.

Cpl. Kyle Green with the patrol's Troop F said traffic impacts were minimal because the fire was on the on-ramp.

The Missouri Department of Transportation's traveler information map at the time of the tweet showed no traffic delays on the interstate.
