MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Montgomery Fire Protection District said on its social media that it put out the flames of a “fully engulfed” vehicle Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 70.

Traffic in the westbound lanes was temporarily shut down, according to the post. The Fire Protection District did not report any injuries in the post and said all occupants safely got out of the vehicle.

The Fire Protection District said the gas tank ruptured and caused gasoline to leak around the vehicle. Water and foam was used to put out the fire, according to the post.
