MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A pair of teenagers from Montgomery County suffered moderate injuries Wednesday night in a rollover crash on Route J at Crooked Creek Road.

A 17-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl were brought to University Hospital in Columbia by ambulance, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. They were both wearing seatbelts, according to the Montgomery County Fire Protection District.

The crash occurred when the 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier went off the right side of the roadway and hit a rock wall embankment. The Chevy overturned, came back to the roadway and slid to a stop on its top.

The Chevy was totaled.
