Four juveniles detained in Moberly for Columbia carjackings

Four juveniles are now in custody after being accused of stealing a car by assaulting the owner with a gun in Columbia.

Saturday morning around 6:45, Moberly Police officers found an abandoned car that was reported stolen from Columbia, according to a news release. While looking into the incident, officers learned the owner of the car was allegedly assaulted with a gun in Columbia earlier that morning when several suspects drove away in their car.

Moberly officers took four juveniles into custody for the assault and theft, according to the news release. Three of the juveniles were released to Columbia Police and Boone County Juvenile Office, and the fourth was turned over to the Randolph County Juvenile Office.

Moberly Police told ABC 17 News that they cannot comment further.
