Electric cooperative reports outages in Osage, Gasconade, Maries counties

MOBERLY, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE 10:00 P.M.: Ameren and Three Rivers Electric Cooperative had restored power to all customers in Mid-Missouri as of 10 p.m. Monday.

UPDATE 5:10 P.M.: Three Rivers Electric Cooperative says it has more than 700 members without power in several Mid-Missouri counties.

The utility said crews were working on 10 separate outages in Gasconade, Osage, Maries and Franklin counties. The outages were caused by high winds.

UPDATE 5:05 P.M.: Ameren Missouri said fewer than 100 customers remained without power Monday evening in the Moberly area.

More than 1,400 customers were without power at the peak of the outages mid-afternoon. High wind associated with storms that rolled through the area caused an equipment malfunction, leading to the outages, the utility reported.

Ameren said it was unclear how long it will take to restore power to all the customers who lost it.

ORIGINAL: More than 1,400 Ameren Missouri electric customers in the Moberly area were without power Monday afternoon.

The utility reported just before 4 p.m. Monday that 1,420 customers in the area had lost power. The power loss happened after storms with high winds went through the area but it wasn't immediately clear what caused the outage.

The utility's outage map reported seven outages total in the Moberly area.

The National Weather Service received a report of a tree that had fallen on a house in Moberly and a wall collapse in Huntsville.
