Missouri Gaming Commission expects to open sports betting license applications by May 15
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Missouri Gaming Commission is looking to make license applications available for sports betting by May 15, the commission shared in a post on its website on Tuesday.
The MGC wrote that applications will be available in May to ensure “that the commission has time to properly review applications before decisions are made and temporary licenses are issued.”
When Amendment 2 was passed by voters on Nov. 5, the measure stated that the MGC will have to license and regulate sports betting in Missouri by no later than Dec. 1, 2025.
The timeline for sports betting to be launched in the state was delayed after Secretary of State Denny Hoskins had rejected the commission's emergency licensing rules last month.
A public hearing on licensing rules is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, April 17 in the Missouri Gaming Commission’s Hearing Room in Jefferson City.
