Foley named director of Missouri Department of Corrections
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Trevor Foley will become the director of the Missouri Department of Corrections, according to a press release from Governor-elect Mike Kehoe’s office.
Foley was named the acting director last year after former DOC Director Anne Precythe announced her retirement.
“I’m grateful to Governor-Elect Kehoe for this opportunity to continue my service to the state of Missouri,” Foley said in the release. “I will continue to advocate for the interests of corrections staff, the safety of our communities, and the needs of the people we serve.”
The release states that Foley has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Columbia College. The release also states that Foley began working at the DOC in January 2000. Foley then worked at the Missouri Senate from August 2008-18. He then went back to the DOC in August 2018 as the director of budget and finance.
“Acting Director Foley brings years of valuable experience to the Missouri Department of Corrections and is a well-respected leader in state government,” Kehoe said in the release. “I look forward to working with Trevor and his team to help DOC continue to lead the nation in improving lives for safer communities.”
