National Weather Service: problem with software sent tornado alert
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The National Weather Service has identified what caused an alert to be sent during a statewide tornado drill.
The organization says this was a mistake and the alert was supposed to go out as a planned drill.
According to a tweet, the message was misinterpreted as an actual warning.
The organization says a problem with its software caused the alert to get sent out.
