Deputies identify human remains found in Miller County

TUSCUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Miller County deputies have identified skeletal remains that were found in a wooded area on Monday.

A release from Miller County Sheriff Louie Gregoire said the remains of 53-year-old Timothy Nicholas were identified this week.

Deputies said Nicholas had been missing since 2019 after a single-vehicle crash on Witt Road in Miller County. His remains were found less than a mile from where the wreck happened.

Authorities had been chasing Nicholas but he ran from the scene before emergency crews arrived, the release said. Gregoire said Nicholas had multiple outstanding warrants.
