Boonville man accused of shooting house charged
BOONVILLE, Mo. (KMIZ)
A 21-year-old Boonville man was charged after authorities say he shot a house while trying to shoot at another person on Tuesday in the 500 block of Katy Drive.
Jarez Foulks was charged on Wednesday with two counts of first-degree assault, armed criminal action, first-degree endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful use of a weapon. He is being held at the Cooper County Jail on a $150,000 bond, according to court records. A court date has not been set.
No injuries were reported. The estimated cost of damage was not available.
According to the probable cause statement, law enforcement responded to a shots fired call at 3:15 p.m. and a 19-year-old had told police that she was shot at by a redacted name listed as T.J. in the statement. T.J. had allegedly ran into a home.
The statement says officers found a home was “occupied by a 17-year-old.” That person allegedly told law enforcement that he was inside the house when he heard sounds of something hitting the house. The statement says he went to the front of the house, saw a broken mirror and realized someone was shooting.
A Cooper County Sheriff’s deputy had interviewed Foulks, who claimed that he and T.J. got into an argument and Foulks thought they were going to fight, the statement says. He allegedly told the deputy that T.J. shot a gun and ran away. Foulks then allegedly said that he drove away and eventually came back, the statement says.
A 16-year-old was interviewed by law enforcement, who allegedly said they were talking to T.J. in a driveway when Foulks approached them and began shooting, court documents say. The 16-year-old started running away and allegedly saw T.J. shoot back at Foulks, court documents say.
