Founder and President of the grocery store chain Moser's Foods is selling the chain after operating for more than 40 years.

In a news release Pro Food Systems, Inc. announced it is buying the Mid-Missouri grocery store chain. The acquisition is expected to be finalized in March 2025.

The company said Moser's will remain under local ownership.

"I am pleased to be selling our business to a local company that will allow our Moser’s legacy to continue," Moser said in the release. "All of our dedicated employees will be able to become employee-owners at PFSbrands and will have the opportunity to maintain their current positions."

PFSbrands is also buying the Show Me Oil service station in Auxvasse. According to the release, this was the first business Moser owned before buying a grocery store. It is also the first and longest operating location for PFSbrands product Champs Chicken.

"I’ve been doing business with PFSbrands for over 25 years so I am confident that their leadership team will continue to operate the stores with the same high standards of excellence, commitment to quality and a commitment to the communities we serve,” Moser said according to the release.

Moser's has eight locations across Mid-Missouri, including three in Columbia.

PFSbrands is the parent company of several food service brands sold in convenience stores and grocery stores.
