No one was injured in an apartment fire at Lake Ozark Village on Friday, according to a social media post from the Osage Beach Fire Protection District.

The post stated half of the 24-unit building was deemed uninhabitable. Lake Ozark Village is described as a retirement community on its website. The release states the lobby of the single-story building divided the 24 units into two 12-unit wings.

Crews responded to the fire at 10:15 a.m. and saw heavy fire and black smoke coming from the building, according to the release. The fire likely started outside, midway down one of the wings, according to the release.

The cause of the fire was not described in the social media post.

Residents of the undamaged apartments were allowed back in their units by 4:30 p.m., according to the post.
