Fire displaces family in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ) A structure fire early Saturday morning left one family displaced after the building was left with significant fire and smoke damage. According to the Jefferson City Fire Department assistant chief, JC fire crews responded to a report of a structure fire around 12:40 a.m in the 1500 block of Adams Street.

According to 31 CARES Act Applications from Jefferson City to the county commission obtained by ABC17 News through a sunshine request, JCFD wants $590,045 to fund and reimburse a variety of expenses from 8 of those applications.

Jefferson City asking for almost $1.5 million in CARES Act funding from Cole County

According to 31 applications retrieved from the city through a sunshine request, $1,476,710 is being requested to help the city handle the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Cole County was given just about $9 million dollars to distribute to cities, communities, businesses and organizations impacted by the crisis.
