Pair of Osage County charges dismissed for man accused of domestic assault

MGN

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A pair of charges in Osage County were dismissed last week for a St. James man who was accused of domestic assault.

Andrew Zachery is currently charged with first-degree kidnapping and second-degree domestic assault in Cole County.

He was previously also charged with third-degree domestic assault and second-degree kidnapping. Those last two charges were dismissed because of lack of evidence after the alleged victim was not cooperative with law enforcement, according to a Monday email from Osage County Prosecuting Attorney Amanda Grellner.

A hearing in the first set of charges has not been set.

For the Cole County charges, he is accused of abducting the victim at their home and assaulting them in a vehicle, court documents say.  Zachery eventually crashed the vehicle and continued the assault, court documents say. Law enforcement spoke with the victim at an area hospital.
