JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The demolition of the former Jefferson City News Tribune building at 210 Monroe Street is complete.

Jefferson City announced the demolition’s completion Friday on its Facebook page. Crews began tearing down the building in May.

The Jefferson City Council had approved a $575,000 appropriation on Nov. 20 for the city to buy the building about a month after Jefferson City officials announced plans to build a conference center to replace the parking garage at 200 Madison Street.

The Jefferson City News Tribune’s new address is 326 East Capitol Avenue. An article on the paper’s website states the paper moved to that address on April 24.
