Yard waste drop-off site in Jefferson City reopens

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The yard waste drop-off site on Ellis Boulevard in Jefferson City is now reopened, the city wrote in a Thursday social media post.

The city expected to have the site reopened by April 1, according to previous reporting.

The site on Ellis Boulevard closed in January and the city originally opted to to end its yard waste services after it rejected bids from multiple companiesciting the cost as the reason. There were 2,161 loads of yard waste dropped at the Ellis Boulevard location was open from November through January.

Yard waste drop-off is open for city residents only during daylight hours. The city detailed a map of the location in its post. The post says to not bring stumps, roots, shrubs with intact root ball, rocks, plastic bags, building materials, trash, metal, plastic or glass.
