No injuries reported in helicopter accident at Jefferson City Memorial Airport

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

No one was hurt after a helicopter accident Monday at the Jefferson City Memorial Airport.

According to the Jefferson City Fire Department, firefighters and EMS were called to the airport at 1:19 p.m. for an aircraft accident. Fire Chief Matt Schofield said in a release that the helicopter was found at the west end of the property. The airport was temporarily shut down to allow emergency crews to access the helicopter.

A preliminary FAA report says the helicopter began spinning on final approach and landed hard in the grass.

The helicopter is registered to Icarus Aviation, LLC., out of Cole Camp, Missouri.
