JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two people were taken to a hospital by ambulance and traffic was briefly restricted Tuesday afternoon after a crash on Missouri Boulevard.

The crash happened at about 3 p.m. at Missouri Boulevard and Highway 179, police say. Donald Munford, 61, of Jefferson City drove his SUV onto Missouri Boulevard from Highway 179 and into the path of a truck driven by Jacob Kampeter, 32, of Jefferson City, according to a news release.

Both vehicles were towed and eastbound traffic was restricted for about 10 minutes, police say. Kampeter was not injured but Munford and a passenger, Carmen Munford, 62, were taken to a hospital by ambulance with moderate injuries, police say.
