Incendiary fire not ruled out after house fire in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Jefferson City Police Department and Missouri Fire Marshal's Office are investigating after initial investigations could not rule out an incendiary fire at an apartment building early Friday morning.

According to a release, the Jefferson City Fire Department responded to the 1100 block of East McCarty Street at 1 a.m. Friday morning for a house fire. Fire crews found heavy fire showing from the building's front and rear.

The fire damaged one apartment and caused smoke damage to the other homes in the building, according to the release.

No one was hurt, but five adults were displaced by the fire.

ABC 17 Crews saw damage to the first story of the building. Two windows were gone with smoke damage visable from the street.
