Jefferson City Animal Shelter stops taking in dogs due to high volume
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Jefferson City Animal Shetler has stopped taking new dogs at its shelter effective immediately.
According to a post on Facebook, the shelter has no space for any new dogs because of the high volume currently at the shelter.
The shelter said anyone who finds a dog "not acting aggressive or in immediate danger" to reach out to the shelter so they can post the photo on its Facebook page.
This is the second time this year the shelter has stopped taking dogs due to overcrowding.
The shelter is open Monday - Friday from 12 - 5:30 p.m. and closed on weekends.
It is unclear how long the shelter will not accept strays or owner releases.
