JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

One adult and one child were displaced following a mobile-home fire Tuesday afternoon in the 3100 block of Kara Street in Jefferson City.

The two found accommodations and received assistance from the Red Cross, according to a press release. The Jefferson City Fire Department arrived to a one-story mobile home at 2:40 p.m., which had “light smoke” coming from the back.

Crews had the fire under control within 10 minutes. Fire damage was contained to the room it started. However, smoke spread throughout the home. The fire was determined to be accidental and started near a couch, the press release states.
