The Jefferson City Police Department responded to a crash involving three vehicles leaving two people injured on Route C at Southwest Blvd Sunday evening.

Winston D. Edwards was driving a Toyota eastbound on Route C approaching Southwest Blvd and Steven Bergstrom was driving a Ford northbound on Southwest Blvd approaching Route C. Amber Brondel was stopped in traffic in a Mazda on Southridge Dr. waiting to turn right on Southwest Blvd.

According to a JCPD traffic report, the Toyota failed to stop at a red light, and drove into the path of the ford, resulting in an angled collision. The Ford overturned and landed on its driver-side in the roadway. The Toyota also overturned and rolled over where it struck the Mazda and then turned back over on its wheels. The Toyota then ran off of the roadway where it hit a curb before coming to a stop.

JCPD reported that Edwards had moderate injuries and was treated on scene. Bergstrom was taken to a Columbia Hospital by EMS for moderate injuries. Brondel reported no injuries.

All three vehicles are said to be totaled, and were towed away from the scene.

Traffic was restricted in the area for 30 minutes while JCPD Traffic Unit investigated the scene.
