COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

MU Health Care will hold its first-of-three drive-thru vaccine clinics on Saturday.

The clinic will take place 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at South Providence Medical Park.

Those 12 years old and older will be able to receive the updated COVID-19 vaccine. An MU Health Care spokesman said those 6 years older and older may be able to receive the vaccine at future events. The vaccine it received is approved for those 12 and older, according to the spokesman.

Flu shots will be available for people 6 months old and older.

A previous press release stated patients are asked to wear loose clothing and short sleeves. Younger children will get their shot in the thigh.

All patients should bring an insurance card and will sign a consent form before receiving a vaccination, the release states. MU Health Care employees should bring their badge and anyone with a COVID-19 vaccination card is encouraged to bring it.

Two more drive-thru clinics will be held at the same time and location on Saturdays, Oct. 14 and Oct. 28.

In addition, Mizzou Pharmacy locations will host vaccination clinics in October, according to MU Health’s website.

Earlier this week, Hy-Vee announced that its Midwest pharmacies will also have the updated COVID-19 vaccines, as well as the flu shot. Residents can schedule an appointment on Hy-Vee’s website.
