Updated COVID-19 vaccines available at Hy-Vee pharmacies

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Hy-Vee, Inc. announced in a Tuesday press release that its pharmacies in the Midwest will have the updated COVID-19 vaccines for those 12 years old and older.

Hy-Vee has three locations in Columbia and a store in Jefferson City.

According to the press release, residents can schedule an appointment on Hy-Vee’s website. The release states walk-ins are also accepted during normal pharmacy operating hours. Those arriving can also request to receive a flu vaccine and/or RSV vaccine (only for ages 60+) at the time of their COVID-19 vaccination.

At least check on Hy-Vee’s website, the Conley Road location state “Preferred Manufacturer Unavailable” and is unable to be selected, while no appointments are available at the West Broadway location. The Appointments were available for the Conley Road location and the Jefferson City store, as of 3:52 p.m. Tuesday.

The release states vaccines for younger age groups are expected to become available at select Hy-Vee Pharmacy locations in the following weeks.

The release states recipients should bring their:

  • Insurance card (if they have insurance)
  • Medicare Part B red, white and blue card (if Medicare recipient)
  • Photo ID

The release states the vaccine is free with most private and public insurance plans.

Appointments for the flu shot are also available on Hy-Vee's website.

Recently, MU Health Care announced that it would be hosting drive-thru vaccination events this Saturday, as well as Oct. 14 and Oct. 28.
