Dustin Ritchie is charged with driving while intoxicated after Boone County prosecutors accused him of crashing into a deputy in January.

Boone County prosecutors charged a Hallsville man on Friday after he allegedly crashed into a deputy back in January.

Dustin Ritchie, 45, of Hallsville, faces multiple charges including driving while intoxicated in connection with the Jan. 13 crash.

The deputy said Ritchie failed to stop at a stop sign and drove on the wrong side of the road on North Route B before the crash.

Ritchie's probable cause statement shows he crashed into the deputy's vehicle near the intersection of North Route B and E. Mount Zion Church Road.

According to the PC statement, Ritchie told the deputy that he had been drinking alcohol previous to the crash. The deputy said prescription medications, an unopened bottle of alcohol and a small amount of marijuana were found inside his car.

The documents show Ritchie refused to medical treatment and refused to give the deputy a blood sample. A Boone County judge approved a search warrant for a sample of Ritchie's blood. Ritchie's PC statement shows the warrant was served at a local hospital.

Online court records show Ritchie's bail was set at $5,500, he has since bonded out of the Boone County Jail.
