Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office: Explosives found at Helds Island Conservation Area boat ramp

HERMANN, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office announced on its Facebook page that deputies responded on Thursday to a call about explosives being found at a boat ramp at Helds Island Conservation Area.

Deputies confirmed the items found were "commercial explosive sticks."

Missouri State Highway Patrol Bomb Squad Unit was called to remove the explosives in a safe manner. About 96 commercial explosive sticks were removed from the Gasconade River, according to the post.

The MSHP Bomb Unit destroyed the explosives on site.
